Adult Ministries

A call to Christian discipleship is a call to life-long learning. OECC helps adults stay fresh in their faith, challenging them to grow in knowledge and service. We equip and encourage individuals to live out their ministry passions according to their distinct spiritual gifts and God’s calling in their lives.

Adult Christian Formation Classes—An educational hour featuring multiple classes follows Sunday worship. Balancing Biblical, topical and inspirational studies, we encourage classes to be interactive, contemporary (i.e. relevant!) and applied.

Discover OECC:
Recently attending adults are invited to an hour with our Pastoral Staff. Conveniently scheduled on a Sunday morning, light refreshments are offered, as staff and ministries are introduced. A “Q & A” format is highlighted by the sharing of personal life stories.

Men’s Prayer Group:
Once a month men of a variety of ages and walks of life come together for prayer, support, friendship and spiritual growth.

Women’s Retreat:
Annually in the fall, women of the church travel to a regional retreat center for a weekend of learning, worship, reflection and relaxation.

Occasional Workshops/Seminars:
OECC offers a weekend setting covering topics of interest to our adult community. Examples include spiritual gifts, marriage and family, or financial planning.

Membership Class:
Opportunity is given to meet on a weekend with Pastoral Staff to learn in greater depth about our church, its ministry and our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church. One is not obligated to membership by taking this class.

Fellowship:
From a fall hayride to a winter pancake breakfast; a front lawn summer BBQ under the “big white tent,” to informal gatherings in homes and restaurants, ours is a relational church. We love to laugh and come together for good times.
